Howdy Haunts,
I was in the middle of two Haunt Manual chapters - one dipping into the raditudes of the ALW Cipher and my Prospectre Ritual’s Gematria Tethers (∴), and the other, a treatise of The Great Equalizer (∴). That is until I sustained a rather serious spinal nerve injury at my work this past Saturday…1
(∴) The Prospectre’s Ghost Gematria & ALW Cipher chapter begins with some journalistic background on the rather mysterious Crowley sourced Gematria. Right before my injury I interviewed Occult & Ufology researcher/practitioner Wren Collier2 who co-authored the invaluable NAEQ.IO3 - a resource I often use to calculate my own lexicon via the ALW Cipher. We had a great chat, and after some editing it will be both a new Pragmagick Podcast and tie the Gematria based Haunt Manual chapter together quite nicely. Not to mention there are true dances amongst the ideas of “ghosts” or “ultraterrestrials” writ large, and how they have framed a metaphoric folklore for these haunt-o-mantic personal practices…
(∴) July spent a lot of rumination on this somatic decay we all share, the true absolute, the ominous and beautiful Great Equalizer. Not only did I lose my neighborhood fetch, Hubert, a crow I’ve grown quite close to, but also my maternal grandmother and an old friend/roommate.4 Hubert frames my somewhat overarching ruminations on death, whilst my notoriously aloof grandmother and the decayed friendship of my now deceased friend relay quite a bit of the dips, sorrows, and interpersonal dialogues concerning my mental qualms and quips concerning this Great Equalizer. I figure as Ghost Pugilist - or Hauntomancer - it was time to really distill the somatic revelries of our fleeting beating and breaths - and speak more of the nuanced centrifugal force that binds all.
And both these chapters evolve/involve/revolve into the sinews of my magick, creativity, and deep breathing into this atmosphere we all gulp of.
These are still coming, of course. I’m just in a bit of a somatic pinch - all this danse macabre’in sucker punched me in the spine and made me realize my own biological detritus, our own linear prism tied to the mitochondria of blood flows and bone marrows. The one thing keeping us linear among the 4D dimensions we ponder and kick in; our biological confines and their inevitable changes or rebirths.
